This answer, like so many, does not address the clock with two keyholes: how often? how far they should be wound? should they always be wound the same number of times?

How do you wind a grandfather clock?

Grandfather clocks need to be wound once a week. Depending on the kind of clock you have, you can wind the clock by pulling on the open end of the chains to lift the weights or for a cable-driven clock, use a crank to lift the weights up.
