I have a Sligh modern grandfather clock, model 0939-1-AN. The strike doesnot work properly. It strikes only once no matter what time it is on the hour. For instance when the time is 10pm, it should strike ten times, when it's on the 11pm it should strike eleven times.... and so on. It only strikes once on all the hours. If one of the gears is not working properly do you suggest I oil it first, if so where and what type of oil? The left pendulum moves very slow as compared to the other two, almost nil. Any suggestions?

What are the functions of the three weights?

Left Weight: This weight runs the strike/count of the clock. This weight allows the clock to count the time on the hour.

Middle Weight: This weight allows the pendulum to swing back and forth which allows the clock to keep time.

Right Weight: This is the heaviest weight. This weight runs the quarter hour/half hour/three-quarter hour chime. This weight allows the clock to play music.
